The Anti-Aging Enzyme
Superoxide dismutase, or SOD for short, is an enzyme which converts the superoxide free radical to hydrogen peroxide, thus functioning as a super antioxidant, one of the most important and spectacular enzymes in the body. Every cell in the body uses SOD to combat damaging free radicals produced by normal cellular reactions. As we age, our bodies begin to produce less SOD, which leads to aging and the potential development of degenerative concerns.

SOD’s primary function in cells is to convert the free radical, superoxide, into hydrogen peroxide.
