Achieving an alkaline pH

Newsletter Index

The first step towards optimum health is to recover the body’s pH to the alkaline range (pH 6.4-7.0).  Almost all chronic illness takes place in a body that has become acidic due to the gradual depletion of its mineral reserves.  If the body pH becomes acidic, it becomes harder and harder for the body to uptake other nutrients, such as minerals, vitamins or herbs.  An acidic pH creates a hostile internal environment, like a raging storm, making the body struggle to get the nutrients it needs. The more acidic you become, the worse you will most likely feel. Common symptoms of acidic pH are: feeling lousy, pessimistic, angry, irritable, fatigue, no Energy and no desire to help others.

As the body comes into better balance (pH 6.4 to 7.0), it is like a sunny spring day; your body can easily assimilate minerals that were very difficult to absorb at a more acid pH. People start feeling great, optimistic, happy, joyful,  full of Energy and a desire to help others. People literally feel a phenomenal shift that they had no idea was related to pH!
In an alkaline environment, you have abundant oxygen. As the pH of the urine drops, less and less oxygen is available to the tissues. Small changes of 1/10 to 2/10 in pH can mean 10 to 20 times more oxygen availability.

Testing the first morning Urine pH:
It has been clinically established that the urine’s pH is an accurate reflection of the whole body’s tissue pH.  The state of the body’s acid/alkaline balance can be easily measured by testing the urine using hydrazine paper (also called pH paper). Follow this link pH Paper Roll (7/32” x 15 ft.  The urine pH is directly correlated to both tissue oxygen levels and soft tissue levels of minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and trace elements.  These minerals are the basic currency of exchange for literally every cell in the body. If the first morning urine pH is acidic (a pH below 6.4), this indicates the body is in a state of physiological dysregulation and distress due to lack of sufficient minerals which are needed to adequately carry out thousands of basic cellular functions.

Testing the Evening Urine pH
Once the pH of the first morning urine stays consistently in the alkaline range between 6.4 to 7.0 (for a period of at least 2 weeks), the next step is to begin testing the evening urine pH (best measured just before the dinner meal around 5 or 6 PM).

What is the treatment?
First of it is useful to remember that the reason we get acidic in the first place is due to the severe nutrient deficiency that that almost all Americans experience. Most people in our society have been raised quite uninformed and rather disconnected from very basic balanced lifestyle that incorporate fresh, organic foods, exercise and rest. Unfortunately, so many people seem to be putting the power in the hands of doctors, hospitals and pharmaceuticals instead of their own innate ancient wisdom and self healing powers. Many are taking medications for everything from teenage acne to depression rendering their bodies unbalanced and toxic.

When the first morning urine pH is below 6.0 and bone loss symptoms are present, usually larger amounts of calcium, magnesium and trace minerals are needed.  In this case, the pH Trio - Master kits A-D is recommended. Ramp up the dose every day until a consistent alkaline is achieved for a solid 2 weeks.    In many such cases, there may be infection in the bone as well. If so, Quantum Bone and Joint Complex should be added.
These day most people are so acidic, and even our organic produce so lacking in proper mineral supplemental minerals are often needed. Check out our Perfet Ph Section for Mineral options.
